Installation Standard and Spacing Requirement of Fire Pipe Clamp

Installation specification and spacing control are core points for fire pipe clamp construction.Fire pipelines will produce axial thrust and vibration when water flows rapidly during fire activation.If supporting clamps are insufficient or improperly arranged,pipes will shift,joints will bear extra stress and leakage may occur.Relevant fire protection codes define maximum spacing values according to pipe diameter,pipe type and installation orientation.Small diameter sprinkler branch pipes need denser clamp arrangement while large diameter main pipes adopt relatively larger spacing.

Before installation,operators confirm pipe outer diameter and select matching clamp size.The mounting base must be firmly fixed to building structural members such as concrete beams and slabs.Fixing on lightweight decorative layers is prohibited,because the base may separate under pipeline load.The rubber cushion should be fully placed between clamp shell and pipe surface without twisting or partial missing.

When tightening bolts,uniform force should be applied.The clamp shall hold the pipe tightly without crushing pipe wall or compressing rubber cushion excessively.For long straight pipe sections,directional restraints can be arranged together with ordinary clamps to control thermal expansion displacement.At elbows and tees,additional clamps are required to bear the reaction force of fluid turning.

After construction completion,inspection includes clamp quantity,mounting firmness and position compliance.Fire acceptance checks will verify whether clamp arrangement meets code requirements.In daily maintenance,workers check for bolt loosening,base detachment and rubber cushion aging.Timely adjustment or replacement ensures continuous reliable support of fire piping systems.
